The paper shows the results of an experimental study of the optical elements quality by background oriented schlieren method. Given the distribution of displacement vector fields, proportional to the gradient of the refractive index in the presence of scratches, chips, striae and other shortcomings of optical parts. The experimental data was performed in the program PIVVIEW 1.7.
