The methodology of brightness surface temperature distribution measurements in the thermal wind tunnel using CCD cameras is described. The problems of operating wavelength choice, CCD camera metrology, camera calibration by black body and temperature lamps, LED reference etalon usage for measurement channel transmission correction are discussed. It is proposed to measure the spectra of the investigated surface to validate the brightness pyrometry and to evaluate the surface emissivity.
