Combined particle image velocimetry and gradient heat flux measurements for a flow past a heated isothermal surface

A new method for heat transfer studies is proposed as a combination of PIV and heat flux measurements. POLIS PIV system coupled with gradient heat flux sensors is used to monitor dependence of heat flux per unit area on velocity and turbulence of air flow. Flow velocity and heat flux field of air flow past a heated plate are measured.
