Experimental study of air vortex structures generated over a heated horizontal metal surface

The results of the original experimental study of the air vortex structures formed over a heated underlying metal surface are presented. The PIV method was used for study of the dynamic characteristics of hot air vortex, at visualized by the smoke, and magnesia. The spatial field of instantaneous velocities and vorticity of air over the underlying surface are measured.
