Development of a measurement technique of gaseous fuel concentration fields by PIV technique

This work is devoted to development of a measurement technique of gaseous fuel concentration fields after the burner of the combustion chamber with use of different fuel injectors. This original technique is based on PIV technique (Particle Image Velocimeter) It allows to measure both velocity fields of high-turbulent stream, and concentration fields of gas fuel imitator with the same hardware and software.
This technique is similar to known method LOM (Local Optical Method) used to measure the concentration of monodisperse aerosol. LOM is a local method, i.e. it measure concentration in a small measuring volume known around 0,2 mm3. The new technique allows to measure both instant and averaged fields of velocity and concentration, and it gives the comprehensive data on current structure of a flow.
