Shadowgraphy investigations of 2D flow with highcurrent surface discharge self-localization

Pulse high-current nanosecond-lasting surface discharge (plasma sheet) influence on high-speed gas flow with shock wave near the surface was investigated with the help of 2-frame laser shadow method. 2D non-stationary CFD simulations of pulse energy deposition near surface in front of shock wave were carried out. Contact discontinuity instability was visualized and simulated. Specific energy deposed near wall surface in front of shock wave was estimated.
