Interferometric study of convective and diffusive surfactant mass transfer near phase interface

An interferometric technique was applied for investigation of evolution of twodimensional concentration fields and structure of convective and diffusive flows around cylindrical air bubbles or insoluble chlorobenzene drops in a thin liquid layers of heterogeneous aqueous solution of surface-tension active isopropyl alcohol. The oscillatory regimes of solutocapillary Marangoni convection arising near air/drop interface in a vertically stratified surfactant solution, as well as in the processes of drop saturation by the surfactant from its water solution and, vice versa, surfactant extraction from the drop into the surrounding fluid were detected and investigated.
