A novel planar fluorescence bubble imaging technique (PFBI)

The paper is directed to explanation of bright rings appearance in typical PFBI images from the position of geometric optics. In order to achieve this, paths of direct, reflected and once refracted rays to camera matrix are reconstructed overall for the case of a single bubble, the formulae for the ray intensity estimation in the matrix plane are derived. Numerical calculations of the intensity profiles are conducted, the results obtained are compared to experimental data.
